Germany remain unbeaten in official matches against Austria, winning their Men's EHF EURO 2026 opener in Herning, but it was a tough and close clash. The neighbours’ duel, attended by 5,820 fans, saw two extremely movable and active defensive sides, as Austria stopped the fast match play of their opponents for a long time. Finally, Lukas Zerbe’s penalty goal for 28:25 and a penalty save by Andreas Wolff, both in minute 58, decided the match. TEXT: EHF / Björn Pazen |
