Slagelse Looking Forward to Győr
Slagelse DT, Denmark’s only representative in the Women’s Champions League semi-finals, are looking forward to their semi-final tie with Hungarian Győri Audi ETO. The Hungarians ended second in their preliminary group just as Slagelse, but they also managed to knock a group winner (Larvik HK) out in the quarter finals.
"As I said many times, we are not afraid of any team, but we respect all of them. It does not scare us that Győr won both their quarterfinals against Norwegian champion Larvik so easily. It does not bother us either that we start at home," Slagelse´s assistant coach, Peter Bruun Jørgensen told eurohandball.com.
"We have to be able to beat them all"
"If you want to win a tournament – as we do – you have to able to be beat all opponents. Now we start preparations for the matches against Győr, who are probably pretty much at the same level of FTC Budapest that we met in the group phase. We know that Győr have en extremely good home court and that they are a very well organised team with Anita Görbicz and Bojana Radulovics. They are probably the greatest stars, but we will also have to watch out for their two Romanian players, Gogirla and Bradeanu. The latter is also good in defence," added Peter Bruun Jørgensen. The assistant coach does not yet know if the first leg is going to be played in Antvorskovhallen in Slagelse or in Copenhagen’s Brøndbyhallen where Slagelse often plays their home matches.
