The 7th European Handball Championship for Women took place in Sweden from the 7th -17th December 2006.

Sixteen teams participated, 47 matches were played, and we witnessed a competition with several exciting matches and unpredictable results. Nevertheless, the six teams that played in the finals in Stockholm all deserved their position!

The competition was organised in four venues. The preliminary rounds were played in Stockholm, Skövde, Gothenburg and Malmö. The main rounds were played in Stockholm and Gothenburg, and the finals were played in Stockholm.
