Slagelse return to BrøndbySlagelse DT will be leaving their home ground, Antvorskowhallen in Slagelse and are moving to the Brøndbyhallen in Copenhagen once again, when the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals against Györ Audi ETO takes place on Sunday 15th April. Slagelse have played their two last Champions League home matches in their home town, but have opted to use another hall for the semi-final.
“We always play our Champions League home matches in Brøndby, when the Brøndbyhallen is free – but it has not been free for several of our Champions League this year and that is the only reason why we played those particular matches in the Antvorskovhallen”, Slagelse director Bjarne Stenbæk told Eurohandball.com
Expecting almost full house
Brøndbyhallen can house more than 5000 spectators, while Antvorskovhallen only has capacity for 2400, and the wish to be able to increase attendance has been the main factor for moving the home matches in the Champions League so far.
"We expect to almost be able to fill the hall for the match against Györ, and as a matter of fact, we have quite a lot of supporters in the Copenhagen area now, and they usually turn up and support us when we play in Brøndby", added Bjarne Stenbæk, who is not letting the team’s loyal supporters from Slagelse and its surroundings down either. "We will arrange bus transport to Brøndby for the members of our fan club and for our gold card spectators" Bjarne Stenbæk said. The match in Brøndby on April 15th will start at 14:00hrs. The 2nd leg match in Györ will begin at the same time on the following Sunday. TEXT: Peter Bruun |
