"I Will Find My Ways"
After successful times with Vinko Kandija and Tone Tiselj, the season with Robert Begus was not satisfying for the Krim Mercator management. Krim's Board of Directors decided to make changes.
eurohandball.com: You have never been coaching a women’s team. This will probably be a difficult mission…
Bojan Cotar: Women’s handball is a big mystery to me, but as all sportsmen and coaches I need challenges, so I accepted the job. At first it will not be easy as I do not know women players but I think after first months of work everything will be okay. For sure I will have to find my ways.
eurohandball.com: Krim has always been ambitious. Are you scared of pressure?
Bojan Cotar: I am not sure that pressure will be more than it was in Nova Gorica. We had long term plans that we accomplished in two years instead in four. There are no long term plans in Krim; the result have to be seen every year.
eurohandball.com: The club had a great team this year but did not reach the goals. What were the reasons?
eurohandball.com: The team is almost complete for the season 2007/08. Are you satisfied?
Bojan Cotar: It would have been better to be appointed in December and choose the players myself but what we have is a good team. The director gave me the opportunity to choose one more player from a foreign country. I think I will search for someone for the left back position. Otherwise, we will try to give the opportunity to young Slovenian players.
eurohandball.com: Did you talk to any of the players?
Bojan Cotar: Yes, I did. I talked to Tanja Oder, Anja Freser and Natasa Derepasko. I told them what I expect and I am satisfied with their answers. I also told Derepasko that she would have to start from the beginning.
eurohandball.com: It often happens that Krim’s coaches would become national team coaches…
Bojan Cotar: No I am not interested at all in something like that. TEXT: Maja Mastnak, Sportal |
