Prudent Danes before the CL Draw

Ryde celebrates CL victory - he is not so enthusiastic at the momentEurohandball.com asks representatives of Danish Women’s Champions League teams about their wishes, hopes and possible fears before the draw of the first group stage on Friday.

Tomas Ryde, coach of Viborg HK:

"Last year, some of our players said that Lada Togliatti would be quite an easy opponent in the quarterfinals. The matches proved that they were wrong and the Russian club turned out to be an extremely difficult opponent. (Viborg were eliminated by two goals in aggregate, ed.) This time I think it would be a good idea to keep quiet and see what the draw brings."

Erik Just, director of Aalborg DH:

“Of course we are happy to have been seeded in Pot 1 for the second qualification round, but we may still end up in a very difficult group. Even though we avoid a team such as last season’s finalists, Lada Togliatti, there are still strong teams in Pot 2. As we will have to win our group to qualify for the group stage, this is not going to be easy at all.”
