Ademar President: Demanding CompetitionThe results of the Champions League draw were welcomed in Leon. Croatia Osiguranje, Kadetten and Vardar Skopje or Pölvi Serviti will form Group C with Ademar Leon. The objective of reaching the next round seems to be possible for the Spanish club.
Difficult but possible
Croatia Zagreb looks to be the favourite of this group with Ademar – at least according to Juan Arias, President of Ademar Leon. “It will be complicated, but we must be in the next round. Croatia have signed good players for the next season and we are on a similar level. Croatia and Ademar are the favourites in this group and we must fight for the first place of the table”. However, Arias does not forget the other teams of Group C. “It will be very important not lose points against these clubs. I suppose that they will be competitive opponents”.
Many games, lot of travel
The new format of EHF Champions League 2007/08 will be very demanding for the clubs. This CL will demand an effort to the teams, said Juan Arias. “This season will be more demanding for us. This competition will cost double money, because we will have to do more and expensive travels. We must play two groups phases. I’m worried because we will play twelve matches and often two matches per week.” For this reason, Ademar tried to reinforce their roaster. “All the competitions need a strong team. We have seventeen handballers this season for so many matches.” TEXT: Fernando Urra Goñi |
