Ademar returns without Cadenas
Jordi Ribera has a really hard task: the new coach must replace Manolo Cadenas on the Ademar bench. It is not an easy job as the last seasons of Ademar were really successful. The Leon fans are used to celebrate victories and the objectives of Ademar will remain the same.
Raul Entrerrios, Oscar Perales and Viran Morros have left Leon to play for Valladolid (Entrerrios and Perales) and Ciudad Real (Morros). In fact, Valladolid paid 300.000 Euros for signing the young playmaker, Oscar Perales. Valcic, Juan Jose Ruesga, Sarmiento and Arrizabalaga are the players chosen to replace them.
A hard season
President Juan Arias, coach Jordi Ribera and captain Mateo Garralda have spoken about the difficulties of next season. The two group rounds of Champions League will make it even harder, because Ademar must play a lot of matches and will need to travel more around Europe and Spain. In addition, Ribera will try to make Ademar play an attractive handball.
Ademar: ambitious team
Ademar will not spend the 300.000 euros received for Perales. The Spanish club thinks that it would be very difficult to find another player on a similar level to the young playmaker. As a result, Danish Claus Jakobsen will be the protagonist in the Ademar attacks, supported by Garralda, Valcic, Stranovsky or Aginagalde.
Spanish young reinforcements
Jordi Ribera was looking for young Spanish players to fill the gaps left by Entrerrios, Perales and Morros.
Juan Jose Ruesga (brother of Portland player Carlos Ruesga), Daniel Sarmiento and Mikel Arrizabalaga are not famous players on an international level, but they can contribute to the group with positive things. Valcic is the most experienced new player of Ademar. The Croatian international played in the Asobal League and at important tournaments with Croatia. The objective of Valcic is to return to the Croatian national team after not being called up for a couple of matches by the national coach.
Teka Cantabria (this season in Spanish League B), Red Star Belgrade and Tunicia National Team will be the opponents during the preseason preparations. The Ribera team will travel to Bosnia to play a friendly tournament. The first session was an hour and a half training, with 200 fans to see the new faces of Ademar Leon 2007-08.
