Promising First Steps for Barcelona

Manolo Cadenas begins his career in Barcelona with a victory against Ciudad de Logrono, Asobal League team.

Barcelona training for the CLBarcelona won 31:21 without problems in the first match after some training sessions. Jesper Nodesbo could play after his nose injury with a protection on his face. The Danish player will play the Champions matches against ABC Braga in the same outfit.

All new players on board

All new handballers of Barcelona played already, but only Garabaya was included in the starting line-up. Kasper, Rocas, Lozano, Gull and Nodesbo began the game from the bench. .Cristian Ugalde was the only missing player from Barcelona. The young handballer is playing for the Spanish junior team in FYR Macedonia at the moment.

The match was easy for Barcelona as Ciudad de Logrono missed some of their best players. Fis, Tvented or Alberto Martin were injured and Barcelona took a comfortable lead soon. The result was 20:9 for the Catalonians at halftime. Barrufet made a really good performance, showing that the competition between Losert, Kasper and him can give very good results for the team.

Not the most important, but the funniest title of FernandezThe second half brought less excitement. Barcelona tried to prepare for the match on 29 August against Braga where they will play to reach the Group Round of the Champions League. This match was played in the Catalonian town of Malgrat, where Enric Masip, General Manager of Barcelona, has a big fan club. These fans choose the player of the game and the “sexiest player” every year. Nodesbo was the chosen for the first title, while the second privilege went to Jerome Fernandez this season…
