Ademar Wins in Bosnia
Ademar Leon passed their first test in Doboj (Bosnia) with a victory at a bad match. The team of Jordi Ribera played their second game in the pre-season and they showed that they need more work to reach their best. Borac was not a very hard opponent for Leon and the Spanish team proved to be the better side by winning 33:28. Despite the success, Ribera was not quite happy with the performance of his players.
Leon began really well with a 6-0 run against Borac. This score decided the game and the Spanish had not doubts about the victory during the game. Borac tried to close the gap, but they were not able to do so and Ademar were leading 18-13 at halftime. They kept the difference after the break, but Ribera made many changes to try different situations in defence and attack.
Good fast breaks and mistakes
Ademar’s wingers were the best scorers of the match. Krivoslykov (5 goals), Stranovsky, Costa and Urdiales (3 goals) reminded the fans of Ademar in the times of Cadenas. The fast breaks were very effective and Ademar scored many easy goals. The main problems of Leon were in the offensive game. Ribera’s squad was not able to give a good pace to their handball and they had no idea to beat the opponent’s defence.
Sigurdsson back
The next test for Ademar will be the Portuguese Porto. Ribera thinks that it will be a harder match and they will need more to defeat the Portuguese club at the second match of the Doboj tournament. Ademar did not suffer injuries and Sigurdsson also recovered after his knee problems. The Icelandic pivot had to stop trainings with a pain in his right knee at the beginning of the pre-season.
