Balic and Richardson: together in Pamplona again

Legendary French player, Jackson Richardson returns to Pamplona... for a friendly match.

Balic and Richardson: Together in Pamplona Again

It is not the big news of the summer, Jackson Richardson will not play for Portland again, but he will play against San Antonio.

There will be a friendly tournament in Pamplona in the period between 31 August and 1 September. Portland, Chambery, Algeciras and the local team Anaitasuna will take part. This will be a great occasion as French centre back and playmaker will return to Spain where he had five great seasons with San Antonio. Richardson won a Champions League and two Spanish League titles with the club.

The tournament will be dedicated to Jose Maria Elso, former director of San Antonio, Anaitasuna, and the Handball Federation of Navarra. He will be 50.

The first semi-final will be played by Chambery and Anaitasuna (Spanish League B), while the other by Portland and Algeciras. The Handball Federation of Navarra invited Ciudad Real as well, but the Spanish Champion will be at the Eurotornoi in Strasburg at the same time.

Richardson vs Balic

Jackson Richardson is, possibly, the most beloved player by the Portland fans. He was with the club in the most successful years of Spanish club history. His spectacular handball style was a symbol of San Antonio.

Now, Ivano Balic is trying to replace Richardson. The two will have a chance to meet on the court again. The interest of the fans is already guaranteed and the French player will also live a very special week in his second home.
