Zeitz Extends Contract with Kiel
German national player, Christian Zeitz(26), has extended his contract with “triple winner” THW Kiel for three more years. As the old contract expires at the end of this season (in 2008), he put his signature under a new one that runs until 2011 – another sign of Kiel’s long-term planning with the key-players.
One day before the start of the Bundesliga season, Kiel’s manager Uwe Schwenker is very happy about this agreement:
“We are glad that Christian will stay for a long time in Kiel. Especially in the Champions League finals he showed how important for our team he is.” The left handed Zeitz arrived from his first club Kronau-Östringen to the “Zebras” in 2003. In these four years, he celebrated a number of titles with THW such as German championship, Cup title, Champions League title, and he has become World champion in February.
“It is great to get such an offer from the best club in the World,” Zeitz said.
“Together with Zeitz and Kim Andersson, we have the best duet for the right back position in Germany,” Schwenker added. Due to a hip operation, Zeitz will not be able to play until October.
“I’m giving my best to help my club especially in the Champions League,” Zeitz concluded. TEXT: Björn Pazen |
