Pajovic Not Available for Ciudad Real in the domestic league

Ales Pajovic cannot play for Ciudad Real in the Spanish Championship at the beginning of this season. The club has too many foreign players in the roster and they had to cross one of the names out. At the same time, Ciudad Real are waiting for the end of the nationalisation process of Rutenka and Sterbik. The Slovenian and the Serbian are players applied for double nationality, but as long as they do not have a Spanish passport, Pajovic will be out of the roaster. However, these problems have no influence on the Champions League participation of Pajovic.

Pajovic against Portland: the Slovenian may return to the team laterCoach Talant Dujshebaiev had to decide between Ales Pajovic and Torsten Laen before taking the definitive decision. The Spanish club offered Pajovic a possibility to leave the club because there is no certainty about the duration of the process. The Slovenian international responded in a positive way and decided to wait with patience. He will continue training with his mates, but cannot play matches at the moment.

Pajovic understands

The decision was not a surprise for Pajovic. “I expected it. They offered me that I could do the best thing for me. I preferred to wait for Rutenka or Sterbik. It is really bad news for me, but I understand the club. They have four players in the left back position and they chose me.”

According to the regulations of the Spanish Federation, nine foreign players are allowed in a team roster, while Ciudad Real have ten. The club hopes that Pajovic take back his place in the team within two months as Sterbik or Rutenka obtain the Spanish passport.
