Gummersbach signs Adrian Wagner
Due to long term injury problems, German Champions League participant VfL Gummersbach signs a new player: Adrian Wagner (small photo by www.tsv-bayer-dormagen.de), 29 year old left winger, joins the club.
Wagner, a very experienced player with former clubs such as Hamburg and Kiel, signed contract for this season. His last club was Bayer Dormagen. Wagner should serve as a replacement of Icelandic left winger, Gudjon Valur Sigurdssson, who is just back from his injury.
“With Adrian, we have more tactical options,” says VfL manager, Francois Xavier Houlet. “With his experience, Wagner is very important for our team, especially because he is very strong in defence.”
Wagner has 25 caps for Germany and won two German titles with Kiel in 2005 and 2006. He was also EHF Cup winner in 2004. Gummersbach lost their first match in Toyota-Bundesliga at home 23:32 against Mannheim. TEXT: Björn Pazen |
