The cup remains in Croatia with the victory of Zovko's new team. Hypo second, Krim third, Buducnost fourth.


Podravka wins international tournament 

Podravka Vegeta won their second consecutive tournament, the “Josip Samarzija-Bepo“ in Koprivnica. Hypo NÖ finished second, Krim third, Buducnost T-Mobile fourth.

Hypo finish secondThe two-day tournament in Croatia started on Friday with a match Podravka Vegeta vs Hypo NÖ. The encounter ended with a tie: 30:30 (17:14). Hypo’s Englert showed an outstanding performance, while Hypo’s left back, Timea Tóth, scored the equaliser only five seconds before the end. Also on the same day, Krim Mercator won against Buducnost T-Mobile 28:26 (10:16). Despite taking the lead in the first half, the Montenegrins could not cope with the much more experienced Slovenian team and with the always dangerous Tanja Oder.

On Saturday, Hypo NÖ won over Krim Mercator 30:26 (16:8). The Austrians played better handball during the entire match. The Podravka Vegeta vs Buducnost T-Mobile game ended 39:27 (20:10) with clear domination from the home team. In the last two matches, Hypo NÖ won luckily over Buducnost T-Mobile 32:31 (16:19), while Podravka Vegeta won 32:30 (18:13) against Krim Mercator and won the tournament with this result.

Pasicnik the best

The experienced middle back was chosen best player of the tournamentKoprivnica offered excellent organisation for the teams once again and the spectators could enjoy top class handball. At the end, the player of the tournament was chosen Svitlana Pasicnik (Podravka Vegeta); best goalkeeper, Ivana Jelcic (Podravka Vegeta); and top scorer was Tanja Oder (Krim Mercator) with 24 goals.
