Mazur leaves Viborg
Viborg HK’s men team, just one step from Champions League group stage, agreed to terminate the contract of 21-year old right winger, Jannick Mazur. Mazur will join Swedish Malmö on a one-year contract.
“After signing Mikkel Aagaard and Jesper Meinby for the right wing, Jannick was far from our first team. He wished to try something else, which we fully understand. We wish Jannick all the best in Malmö,” said Torben Østergaard, sports director of Viborg.
Joins in 2006
Jannick Mazur, a former U21 international for Denmark, joined Viborg in the summer of 2006 from Team Helsinge – now called Nordsjælland Håndbold – who just gained promotion for the Danish first division. Before that, Mazur played for Næstved and GOG.
Viborg are only one small step from the Champions League group stage, where they would meet HSV Hamburg, Chehovskie Medvedi and ZRT Zaporozhye. After having beating Besiktas Istanbul 35-23 in the first leg of the Qualifying Round, the return match in Turkey looks formality for Viborg on Saturday. TEXT: Peter Bruun |
