Official: Lino Cervar returns to Zagreb

The new coach of ZagrebAs Eurohandball.com previously reported, Croatia Osiguranje-Zagreb were looking for a new coach after sacking Nenad Klajic.

The most likely candidate for the position was Lino Cervar, legendary coach of the Croatian national team who previously worked for the club already.

Now it has been officially announced that CO Zagreb signed a 3-year contract with Lino Cervar to take over the team that was reinforced with top players during the summer.

Maglajlija will be one of the assistant coaches with additional responsibilities in the first monthsZagreb’s Technical Manager, Ante Ancic, confirmed the news to Eurohandball.com:

“Zagreb signed with Lino Cervar until 2010. In the first two months, the new coach will rely more on his two assistant coaches, Senjanin Maglajlija and Mirko
Mirko Bašić, because of his political career. There will be general elections in Croatia soon, but after the elections Lino Cervar will focus all his attention on the club.”
