Two CL top teams played for the first official title in Spain. Barcelona showed a good performance, but the injury of Nagy was decisive.


Ciudad Real won Spanish Supercup title

Ciudad Real defeated Barcelona 32:30 and won Spanish Supercup title, first trophy this season.

The Ciudad fans celebrated at the endAt Jose Luis Sanchez Paraiso hall in Salamanca, in front of 4200 spectators, Ciudad Real won their second Spanish Supercup title in the club's history.

First half: Barcelona lead

This title did not come easily at all. Handball fans enjoyed top handball and an exciting match all the way to the end. Barcelona fought hard from the beginning and they took the initial lead.

The Catalonians were very aggressive with a strong 6-0 defence. Romero, Nagy or Jerome Fernandez did not score a lot of goals, but they showed a very dynamic attack. Juanin Garcia, Nodesbo and Rocas finished from the line these fast plays. Ciudad Real were not able to take control of the match and Barcelona kept a 2-goal difference. The good performance of Hombrados and the connection between Chema Rodriguez and Urios saved in this period Ciudad.

Injury of Nagy

Sterbik's saves were decisiveSecond half started with a duel between Baruffet and Sterbik. They both saved some great shots.

A brilliant defence of the Talant Dujshebaev team and a great offence of Entrerrios led Ciudad Real to victory and to their first title this season.

The best Ciudad Real players were Alberto Entrerrios with 7 goals and Petar Metlicic who scored 5 goals from 5 shots on goal. Iker Romero (6 goals) and Jesper Noddesbo (5 goals) showed the best performance on the Barcelona side.
