The Bosnian champions are looking forward to the CL with stronger background and a couple of changes in the team.


Bosna: New Name, New Coach, New Hopes

Bosnian champions and last seasons Cup Winners’ Cup semi-finalists will start their third CL season. With great support from their sponsor and a newly appointed coach, they have high hopes.

Strong financial background

Bosna always play in crowded halls and great atmosphereThe season starts with a very important deal for Bosna Sarajevo. The club signs a 4-year sponsorship contract with Bosnian company, Lido Osiguranje. The team will carry the company’s name in the future. They also signed contract with sports equipment provider Hummel for 4 years. Now that financial issues are settled, the Bosnian champions can focus entirely on trainings and sports results.

Changes in the team

Because of the illness of Vukasin Stojanovic, the club found his substitute and signed Montenegrin international, Petar Kapisoda. FYR Macedonian Ace Jonovski, 202 cm tall left back, also arrives together with two goalkeepers, Adnan Sabanovic and Nebojsa Grahovac. They will have to substitute a very important player; the former team captain, Enid Tahirovic, who will play in the Slovenian league this season. Bosna will also miss Omerovic who went to Austrian Krems.

After Dragan Mirkovic abandoned his position, a new coach, Jovica Elezovic, arrived. He won Olympic gold medal in Los Angeles as a player. He was coach of the Serbian national team in the past.

Expectations

“Bosna are one of three strongest teams in former Yugoslavia, together with Zagreb and Celje. Our objective is to win two titles in Bosnia and to go on to the next round in the CL. I hope that we can achieve these goals with a good mentality.”
