BUDUCNOST T-MOBILE Wins FIRST Test matches
Finally! Buducnost T-Mobile ended a long series without victory in the preparation period for the EHF Champions League. After losing nine matches in previous three international tournaments (Hungary, Croatia, Slovenia), and one more in an unofficial game in Bijelo Polje against Macedonian Kometal Gjorce Petrov, the team of Tone Tiselj got gained two victories in a row to finish first at the international tournament in Northern Montenegro. Tiselj’s team showed good improvement in the play.
Buducnost T-Mobile first got a revenge on Kometal Gjorce Petrov (34:26), and the day after easily defeated the Serbian side, Radnicki Petrol (36:21).
In the first match against Kometal, who kept the pressure on the home team just in the first half, the best scorers were the right winger Jovanka Radicevic (12 goals) and left back Marija Jovanovic (11). The two very talented players together scored almost the same number of goals as the FYR Macedonian team all together. In the game against Radnicki Petrol, Jovanovic was the top scorer with Ana Radovic, scoring both seven goals. Satisfied coach
Interesting, the first victory in the preparation period came on the day of Tone Tiselj 46th birthday.
“A long and hard period of preparation is behind us. At the previous three tournaments we didn’t show our best, because the team was tired and not well coordinated. Against Kometal, the girls proved they know how to play also with their strong will. That match against the FYR Macedonians was also very tough and I am sure that the spectators enjoyed the show. In general, I’m satisfied with our games in Bijelo Polje and it gave me confidence that my team can play well. That matches solved dilemmas and doubts I had before the tournament. I’m sure that we will be ready to play better at the start of the Champions League,” stated Tone Tiselj.
Good news is that Snezana Damjanac, Vinka Vlahovic and Dragica Milickovic-Orlandic, as well as Marija Jovanovic and Jovanka Radicevic, were back in the team after missing some matches because of injuries. But, the experienced player, Sanja Jovovic, didn’t play in Bijelo Polje due to some problems with her knee. Jovana Jovovic will be out for a few month still with a tendon surgery. The young goalkeeper, Itana Perovic, is still out because of a groin injury. TEXT: Sasa Joncic |
