Bregenz count on fans
The Austrian champions will play their first CL match of the season in SHS Rieden-Vorkloster Hall. Portland will visit to Bregenz. The Austrians know that after a disappointing away defeat they have to face an even bigger challenge, the Spanish runner up. Considering the quality difference between these two teams, the only hope of the hosts will be the great support of their fans.
Bregenz was defeated in Presov in the first round of CL, but in the last match of the Austrian Championship Bregenz easily won by 38:26. The best scorer of the game was Roland Schlinger with nine goals. After six rounds played in the Austrian Championship they have five wins and one draw. Successful at home
Portland did not start well in the CL, they already lost a point at home from GOG. In the Spanish Championship things are going as they planned. Portland won all three matches so far, but they suffered a lot in their last win. Portland played against Granollers on Wednesday and won 30:28. Nikolic scored six goals from six attempts and he played very well. Kjelling will not travel to Austria – he is injured as we reported earlier.
The game A1 Bregenz vs Portland San Antonio will be played on Saturday in Bregenz at 20:20. ORF Sport and Teledeporte will broadcast the game live. The referees will be Canbro and Claesson from Sweden. TEXT: Ivan Ambros |
