No need to motivate the players

Coach of Budapest Bank-FTC is very positive about the start of the Champions League. Gyula Zsiga is satisfied with the attitude of the team.

No need to motivate the players

Budapest Bank-FTC is in a difficult situation. After changing half of the team for the new season, the Hungarians have to play in Group D of the Champions League against Viborg, Romanian Valcea and Montenegrin Buducnost. Gyula Zsiga, new coach of FTC tells us about the chances against Buduncost in the first round.

Gyula Zsiga with his assistants in the background including former player, Helga NémethEurohandball.com: Viborg and Valcea will be the opponents in the CL. However, there could be a chance to win in Podgorica already in the first round…

Zsiga: Yes, we are motivated before this very important game at the weekend. If our two young backcourt players, Szandra Zácsik and Viktória Soós will be brave enough and their shots will be good, we have a chance. If Szucsánszki will repeat her prolific performance that she has shown in the national team recently, it will also help.

Eurohandball.com: It is well known that you like to watch lots of recordings on the opponents. What can you tell us about Buducnost based on this?

Zsiga: I have seen four or five games they played in Hungary or in Koprivnica. They are a similarly young team like Ferencváros. Their coach, Tone Tiselj, has a 3-year plan. It means that he asked for confidence to build a team just as successful as Podgorica used to be. That was an important club in European handball. The left winger Radovic stayed with them from the more experienced players and she plays in the middle back position as well. Jovanovic, born in 1985, is very strong, an important player.

Eurohandball.com: Ferencváros seem to have found their way in the Hungarian league after bad results at the beginning. Is it a good sign before the CL start?

Zsiga: I have good feelings about it. I hope that the CL will start a positive period for us even if we cannot win all our games. Four matches are coming up where our players can prove on an international level.

I believe that the young players who have already made their marks will be inspired by these four games when they will play against the bests of Europe. I can feel that the girls think in the same way. I don’t even have to motivate them, the train with enthusiasm.
