"We can do much better"Eurohandball.com asked Anja Andersen to comment after the game between Győr and Slagelse. Eurohandball.com: Despite the defeat, Slagelse were close to Győr by the end of the first half. Anja Andersen: We didn’t play well. We made too many mistakes in the first 30 minutes and we were down to 3-4 goals all the time; in the first 15 minutes of the second half we could score only one goal. My team were unlucky today. I’m disappointed because we can do much better.
Eurohandball.com: Is there anything to be happy about? Anja Andersen: The form of Emiliya Turey is promising as she played well in the left back position. It is a pity that she was left so alone and Győr could score many goals from the fast breaks.
Eurohandball.com: In contrast to last year, it was not Görbicz this time to cause so many difficulties. Anja Andersen: I still believe that she is the best player of Győr. One must think about handball as she does. She always knows how to position on court. There is always a big responsibility on her, even when she is not in a good form. Maybe she was not the best today, but I still see her as a fantastic handballer.
Eurohandball.com: Did you also feel that Slagelse were helpless in attack? Anja Andersen: Yes, because my players still have to get used to each other. We have to integrate 3-4 new players in defence as well and it needs time. I wish the Champions League could start in January. It would give time for the injured players – all missing from the left back position. Hopefully, Gabi Rotis will be in theteam again in January. If not, than we have to swap the positions and keep Turey in the left back position. TEXT: handball.hu (Ildikó Balogh) |
