Ademar defeat Ciudad Real

Round 8 of Asobal League brought big matches for the CL participants. Ademar hosted Ciudad Real and the match ended with the first defeat of the season for the guests.

Ademar Leon surprised Ciudad Real and won a difficult match. Leon’s coach, Jordi Ribera, could not count on Jackobsen. The Ademar key player was replaced by Daniel Sarmiento who scored five goals and was the playmaker of Ademar.

Stefansson&Co. suffered their first defeat of the seasonPortland San Antonio caused bitter disappointment once again for their fans. The team of Javier Cabanas made a draw in Vigo against Pilotes Posada. This results underlines the crisis of the Pamplona-based team once again.

Barcelona won their game and the defeat of Ciudad Real takes them closer to the top position.

Ademar were looking for an important victory after two draws against Portland and Barcelona. Ciudad Real were the victims this time. Leon were not optimistic about this game after the injury of the Danish Claus Jackobsen the day before the match. However, Daniel Sarmiento took the control and made it possible for his mates to play the best handball.

Saric and the good Ademar defence were also instrumental.

Draw in the last second

Portland need to find something out… Pilotes Posada is a newly promoted side in the Asobal League and Portland had to be satisfied to make a draw at all as Ortigosa saved a point in the last seconds.  

Portland are in trouble again: the CL can help them outPortland will look for a victory on Wednesday against Bregenz, but the atmosphere in UPNA Pavilion will not be the best. The fans are disappointed and another mistake might have severe consequences. At the moment, the Champions League is the greatest target for the Cabanas team after saying goodbye to the Asobal title.

Barcelona are waiting for the mistakes of Ciudad Real. The team of Manuel Cadenas won in Antequera. It was a difficult game for the Catalonians, but Iker Romero played in top form. He scored 13 goals, while Lozano added six goals and a good work in defence.
