Thomsen to leave Viborg
Danish international, Lene Thomsen, is going to leave Viborg HK at the end of the season – one year before the end of her contract with the club. The 24 year old backcourt player wanted to cancel the last 12 months of her contract with Viborg, and the club management accepted her wish.
Sad to see her go“We are sorry that Lene decided to leave Viborg HK,” this was the comment from the club’s sports director, Michael Hansen. “It is particularly sad, as I feel that Jakob and Tomas have finally found the way to get the best out of her and she has played her best matches for us lately. However, she chose to move closer to her boyfriend and to get some more match practice. When it comes to match practice, we have to see that Lene is one among many stars in our backcourt line and therefore it may be the best for both her and Viborg HK if she finds another club. Of course we wish her the best luck with that,” the sports director added.
It has not yet been announced where Lene Thomsen will play who joined Viborg in November 2005 from KIF Vejen. At the moment, there are two first division clubs in North Jutland, Aalborg DH and Frederikshavn Fox. No matter which club she will choose, she can make her move on a free transfer.
“We are not going to charge any transfer fee,” Michael Hansen confirmed to Eurohandball.com.
