EHF CL - Technical Details

The teams ranked 1 and 2 after the group matches will qualify for the main round. The 3rd ranked team will go through to the Cup Winners’ Cup Round 4, which will also be drawn on 27th November. The teams ranked first from each (Group Matches) group will be drawn to position no. 1 and no. 2. The teams, which are second in the Group Match phase of the EHF Champions League will be drawn to position no. 3 and no. 4 and will not be protected from being drawn against a team from their country. A consequence of this is that teams from the same country could be drawn to the same group for the Main Round phase of the competition. In general, teams will not meet a team from the same group in the Group Matches phase.
