Louise Pedersen joins Slagelse on loan

Women’s CL winner Slagelse DT gets considerable reinforcement for the New Year. 28-year old former Danish international, Louise Pedersen, joins the club from Aalborg DH on loan for the rest of the season.

Pedersen "made a perfect choice"“I was looking for a possibility to go on loan and Slagelse seem to be a perfect choice for me. I’m really looking forward to work with coach Anja Andersen. She works very well and she is determined with her players. Slagelse’s presence in the Champions League also played a part in my decision,” said the experienced right winger, who played an important role in Aalborg’s Champions League successes in the two previous seasons.

Filling a gap

Louise Pedersen will fill a gap in Slagelse. The team were suffering from the lack of left-handed right wingers all season. While she will be eligible to play for Slagelse in the Danish league already from the beginning of 2008, Anja Andersen will have to wait for Pedersen in the Champions League until the Main Round in February. However, Slagelse are already qualified.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Louise. She is a player with much more potential than we have seen so far and I definitely want to develop that potential,” said Anja Andersen, coach and sports director of Slagelse.

Louise Pedersen’s contract with Aalborg DH expires at the end of the season when her loan deal in Slagelse will also end. What happens later than that point is still unknown.

Louise Pedersen, who played 48 internationals for Denmark, joined Aalborg from KIF Kolding in the summer of 2004. She also played for Horsens and Viborg before.
