GOG fear no one

The Danish side are very positive before the draw as they will have nothing to lose in the Main Round.

GOG fear no one

GOG Svendborg TGI, Denmark´s only representative in the Main Round of the Men’s Champions League, fears none of their possible opponents in the next group phase, which starts in February.

GOG are not the most excited team before the drawThat is the general feeling in the club before the draw for the main round in Vienna where the Danish champions are sure to meet two group winners and a team ranked two. Only the group winners of the Main Round will proceed to the semi-finals. For the other teams, their European adventure will be over for this season.

“We take them as they come!”

The probably most optimistic GOG player is right winger, Dennis Kirkegaard, who joined the club from Team Tvis Holstebro before this seaso. Champions League was a completely new experience for him.

“Give us FC Barcelona, HSV Hamburg and SG Flensburg-Handewitt, please,” said Kirkegaard, while head coach Ulf Schefverts is also taking the upcoming draw in quite a relaxed mood.

“We have no influence on the outcome of the draw anyway, so we may just take the teams as they come. This is exactly what we intend to do,” Ulf Schefvert told Eurohandball.com.

Backcourt player, Jacob Larsen found that GOG has everything to win in the main round:

“We are going to face some of the absolute top teams of Europe, so every point that we earn against those teams will be a triumph,” the Greenland international said.
