Andersson: “We have the most exciting group”
Kent-Harry Andersson, coach of SG Flensburg-Handewitt, did exactly the same thing that many European handball friends have done on Tuesday morning. He was watching the Live Stream of the Champions League draw.
“We were drawn to the most exciting group,” says SG coach, Kent-Harry Andersson. “I think that in the other groups Kiel, Ciudad Real and Barcelona are a bit ahead. In our group it is difficult to tell who are the favourites. Maybe they are Portland San Antonio and HSV Hamburg, but RK Zagreb can also be dangerous.”
In general, the runner-up of the last CL edition was not disappointed. In view of the attractive opponents, SG manager, Fynn Holpert, expects to sell all the tickets for the matches in Campushalle: “Portland San Antonio knocked Ciudad Real out last season, RK Zagreb are old acquaintances and it is always entertaining to play against HSV Hamburg.”
The players were also pleased. SG goalkeeper Dan Beutler was happy to meet the neighbours and his “Mentor“, Tomas Svensson, who plays in Pamplona. Blazenko Lackovic had two reasons to be happy: his friend, Ivano Balic, plays in Pamplona and RK Zagreb is his former club.
Technical director of Zagreb, Ante Ancic, added at the venue of the draw in Vienna: “It is always nice to play against Blazenko Lackovic." TEXT: Jan Kirschner |
