Urios happy to avoid KielCiudad Real are among the favourites for the CL title. The Spanish team – just as many other sides – wanted to avoid Kiel in the Main Round. They were lucky and they were drawn together with the German Gummersbach, Slovenian Gorenje and the French Montpellier. Players talk about the result of the draw.
Rolando Urios: “We know Gummersbach as we played the a Super Cup Final against them. It will be difficult to beat them, they have really good players and Montpellier are also hard team at home."
David Davis: “Gummersbach miss their former playmaker, Narcisse. However, there are no easy teams in this phase of Champions League”.
Uros Zorman was happy for the draw: “I wished to return to my country, but I did not want to play against Celje. So, the result is perfect like this. Gorenje are not Celje and they do not feel about the games as in Celje. They have a very good defence and quick fast breaks. The Croatian Vuckovic is a dangerous back court player and their keeper is also good. On the other hand, their playmaker is injured.”
The French Didier Dinart knows Montpellier perfectly: “They are very dangerous at home. The fans give a great support and it is very important for the players. I think they are not on the same level as before when we won the Champions League. I think we were lucky with the draw because there are more complicated teams in the other groups. However, we must be prudent”. TEXT: Fernando Urra Goñi |
