Rikke Skov stays with Viborg

One of the most important Viborg HK players, Danish international Rikke Skov, has signed a new contract with the club until the summer of 2011.

Skov will be playing for Viborg until 2011The 27-year old backcourt player and defence specialist, who has played her entire career (since the age of 14) in Viborg, is considered to be a key player for the future as well.

“Rikke is a real Viborg girl and that makes us even happier about this deal. She is a leader with will power and fighting spirit, but she also influences the good atmosphere of the team. On court Rikke was always known for her outstanding qualities in defence, but she has also developed a lot in attacks. She has continuously improved in understanding the game and she is becoming more and more efficient all the time,” Viborg´s sports director Michael Hansen said on breaking the news.

Happy to stay

“Viborg is the club for me and I really cannot imagine playing for any other club. I have been here so long, but at the same time it is simply the most attractive club. I and the club, we have very high ambitions and we have a very interesting team, so I’m really looking forward to working for more medals and trophies with Viborg HK,” Rikke Skov said.

Earlier, Viborg announced the extension the contract of another player, left winger Gitte Aaen, who will stay in the Central Jutland club until the summer of 2010.
