Viborg stars injured

Viborg are struck by injuriesAs the Women’s Champions League is about the resume, Viborg are struck with a series of injuries. The latest bad news: goalkeeper Louise Bager Due, who picked up a serious foot injury during training, will be out for more than two months.

This means that she will be sidelined for the rest of the group stage and also for most of the main round in the CL. Louise Bager was operated in the morning following her injury, but not even the quick surgery could prevent this long break for the 25-year old goalkeeper. Her absence will leave Viborg with only Kathrine Lune Haraldsen for the goalkeeper position.

Jurack out with a broken finger

“I do not yet know whether we would get another goalkeeper on loan or if we trust Kathrine Lune to do a magnificent job. Anyway, it is frustrating with all these injuries, which also make it almost impossible to carry out a normal training session at the moment,” said Viborg´s Swedish head coach, Tomas Ryde. The injury list also includes German international, Grit Jurack, who broke her finger earlier this month during the World Championship, Romanian international, Christina Várzaru, and Danish left back, Lene Thomsen.

There are also positive news for Ryde and Viborg: Norwegian Kristine Lunde, out for the entire autumn season after a shoulder surgery, returned at a test match. She seems to be fit for action again.
