Season ends for Portjanko and Oholanga
Kometal GP’s backcourt players, Julija Portjanko and Alegra Oholanga, will miss the rest of the season due to injuries. Both handballers were injured at the Women’s WCh in France and according to doctors they will have to rest several months. The rehabilitation period will be known after surgery.
Coach Ljubomir Savevski also cannout count on his substitute line player, Lence Ilkova, as she is injured on her shoulder. She will also undergo surgery and her season also ends.
The left-handed Alegra Loki Oholanga suffered a ligaments injury at the game FYR Macedonia vs Russia in the first half. Doctors predict at least six months stop for her. Julija Portjanko was injured on her left knee.
Kometal GP will host Norwegian Larvik on Saturday. Kometal GP will play one more game in the CL against Hypo. The FYR Macedonian champions – though they are on the bottom of Group C at the moment – still believe that they could clinch a CWC place by winning two games, but this would be complicated.
After both crucial players injured, the former CL winner will have less chance for the upcoming games. New coach, Ljubomir Savevski, have new "headaches": this is the worst season for Kometal GP in the CL ever.
