FTC hopes still alive

The young Zácsik scored 8 goals and played a great gameFerencváros had a chance to take the first points of the CL season against Podgorica. It was the last home game in the CL for the home team. In case of a Podgorica victory in Budapest, the Montenegrin team could even have reached second place in the group, but the Hungarians also had to fight hard for a possibe Cup Winners’ Cup place.

The hosts concentrated well in defence and they could score quick goals on counter attacks. The guests were trying to get closer while FTC Budapest made early substitutions on the left side of the team.

The goal of Szamoránsky in the 17th minute gave a 10-7 lead for the hosts and many mistakes followed. Buducnost could stay close with the four-four goals of Radicevic and Radovic, but they were unable to equalise. It was 15-12 in the break.

FTC Budapest started the second half very well and they were leading by six in the 38th minute (22-16). Haris came in to replace Pastrovics in the goal and she was in good form. Milankovic and Barjaktarevic on the other side were ineffective against the home attacks.

FTC won comfortably at homeSzandra Zácsik proved her good form once again and scored good goals. Buducnost seemed to have given up and FTC could win by a comfortable eight. Though Radovic scored an overtime free-throw, it was not enough for the guest.

This victory gives Ferencváros the hope to clinch CWC participation in the last round, but they would need a draw at least in Viborg, while Buducnost can secure third place at home against Valcea.
