Englert wants to finish unbeatenSabine Englert won bronze medal with Germany at the World championships. The goalkeeper is back with Hypo in the Champions League, and she is still winning. After the 35:30 success against Lada Togliatti, Eurohandball.com talks to her.
Eurohandball.com: This was your first important game after the World championship. Was it good to win again?
Sabine Englert: Of course! It was a great relief to win the bronze medal with Germany, I was very happy about it. And now we came back from all the different national teams - and even managed to win against the finalists from last year. This was a great result for us.
Eurohandball.com: The whole Hypo team did not play in their best form, and even so you could beat a great side like Lada...
Sabine Englert: This is very strange. We didn’t play well, had a bad start against Togliatti, but we won the game quite comfortably. I really can’t find an explanation.
Eurohandball.com: You made a couple of good saves in the second half. Are you satisfied with your performance?
Sabine Englert: Everyone congratulated me after the game, but I wasn’t happy with my performance. I think it was not good. But it’s nice to see that I conserved my great form from the World championship...
Eurohandball.com: Now Hypo finish on top of the group. Do you think the last game will be just a friendly match?
Sabine Englert: If you look at it, you might think so. But we also want to win the last game, beat Skopje and get to the next round with our impressive record... TEXT: Eurohandball.com |
