Leganger out for weeks

Slagelse will miss Leganger's classOn top of having many injuries already, CL winner Slagelse DT suffered another serious blow. The team’s first-choice goalkeeper, former Norwegian international, Cecilie Leganger is sidelined for the first part of the Main Round due to an operation. The 32-year old goalkeeper, often named as the no.1 goalkeeper in the world, was complaining about stomach pains. After examinations in the hospital Leganger was operated immediately.

Hard blow

Due to her operation, Leganger did not play the first Main Round match against Hypo that Slagelse lost by 31-21 on Saturday. The experienced player probably has to miss two more weeks.

“Of course, this is a hard blow for us. I just hope the best for Cecilie,” Slagelse´s head coach, Anja Andersen told a local newspaper, Sjællandske Medier.

The break means that Cecilie Leganger, who joined Slagelse from the Slovenian Krim Ljubljana in the summer of 2004, is not likely to return before the home match against the other Danish CL team, Viborg HK on 23 Februarythe earliest.
