Women’s Challenge Cup: Two French, two Romanians

A Romanian duel may be the highlight of the Challenge Cup quarterfinals.

Women’s Challenge Cup: Two French, two Romanians

The Women’s Challenge Cup will be a good opportunity for teams to show their ambitions and abilities.

Oldenburg vs Wr.Neustadt

The German side have already played a difficult game on their way against another German team, Trier. They have few foreign players, but many young players are trying to get as far as possible on their first attempt in the European cups. The Austrians have more foreigners, but still they are not the favourites of the pairing.

Merignac vs Reykjavik

The French side have big experience in the Challenge Cup, but they have never reached the final. Now they have to do well against the Icelandic girls who eliminated a Slovak and a Serbian side so far.

Constanta vs Braila

This pairing promises a very equal duel with the two Romanian sides playing against each other. Constanta have slightly more experience from the previous years, but even last season they were knocked out by another Romanian side. Constanta are currently 7th, Braila 5th on their domestic league table.

Dijon vs Bratislava

It sounds like an interesting match and the French side that defeated Zagreb in the previous round can make it really difficult for the Slovaks. Bratislava are in their very first European season.
