Ademar Leon keep their chances to qualify for the semi-finals after winning against Chehovskie in Leon. The next game for the Spanish side will be decisive when Kiel will host Ademar to decide the place in the semi-final. The Spanish will have a very complicate match in Kiel, but the Ribera-team will try to surprise to the Germans.
Coach Ribera had some injury problems. Jackobsen, Garralda or Sigursson are not fit to play, but their replacement functioned well so far. However, it also needs to be said that Ademar seem to be tired.
The game against Chehovskie began really well. The Spanish took a big lead, but as time went by the Leon players got tired and Russians leveled the game.
It was not a usual match. The two teams took 25 (!) 7-m shots in 60 minutes. It was a key to the game. Chehovskie converted these chances with a 50% of efficiency, (7/14), and this bad statistics the Maximov team could not win such a close game. The Croatian goalkeeper, Alilovic, was the hero of Ademar with four saves out of six penalty shots.
The last minutes were very exciting with lots of emotions. The Russians were very close to win the game, but a tired Ademar had Stranovsky in their team. He took the last three shots of the game for Ademar and the Slovak player was perfect: his three important goals gave the victory to the Spanish.
These two points give Ademar a new chance to reach the first place of the group by winning in Kiel in the last round of this round. TEXT: Fernando Urra Goñi |
