Ademar in top form to make a miracle
Ademar Leon began this edition of the Champions League as the fourth ranked Spanish team. Ciudad Real, Barcelona and Portland seemed stronger after Raul Entrerrios and Oscar Perales left Leon.
Before the season, Ademar signed not very well known players, such as Sarmiento, Arrizabalaga and Juanjo Ruesga. Ademar also changed the coach as Manuel Cadenas went to Barcelona after many years leading Ademar. Jordi Ribera came to replace the legendary coach of Leon. However, it seemed to be a difficult season for Ademar.
Despite the difficulties, Ademar has been doing well this year. Ribera’s team is fighting for the third place in Spanish League with Portland San Antonio and they still have a chance to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Ademar must win in Kiel, which is a difficult task, but not impossible. The circumstances will not help Ademar. The injuries of important players such as Jackobsen, Laluska, Garralda and Sigursson have weakened the Spanish side in the last games. In addition, the Ribera team has not been lucky with the schedule. The team had to play two decisive games in three days. After beating Chehovskie and Barcelona, they will travel to Kiel only three days later.
Jordi Ribera cannot count on Jackobsen in Kiel. The coach will try to give a rest to the other players of the team before the game. Alilovic can be a decisive weapon of Ademar. The Croatian goalkeeper is in top form and he has been almost unbeatable in the last two games.
Alilovic saved four penalty shots against Chehovskie and played a very good match against Barcelona.
Stranovsky, Laluska and Sarmiento are also important players for Ademar now. They are in a good form and they also know how to beat Kiel this season. Tonight Ademar will be trying to make a miracle against the CL title holders. TEXT: Fernando Urra Goñi |
