Barrufet out for three weeks
The 38-year old player suffered a muscle injury in his left foot against Kiel and he will lose the second leg of the semi-finals.
The Spanish goalkeeper has really been unlucky recently. Barrufet could not take part at the Euro2008 because of other muscle injuries. It seems now that Cadenas cannot count on him in the decisive games coming up in Europe and in the Asobal League.
Barcelona must fight for the Asobal League against Portland at home on Wednesday (9 April at 19.00hrs) and they will host Kiel in the Palau on Sunday.
Barcelona will also be playing for the cup title next week as the Catalonians will travel for a Spanish Cup game to Zaragoza to meet EHF Cup semi-finalist CAI BM Aragon.
However, Barrufet might be ready to play the most important game of the Asobal League season on 3 May against Ciudad Real in the Quijote Arena. TEXT: Fernando Urra Goñi |
