Lost and found: the trophy arrives in Ciudad Real
Ciudad Real can celebrate wholeheartedly. As it was reported earlier, only the trophy was missing from the plane that took the heroes of the small Spanish city back to their homeland.
The missing luggage caused surprising and also funny moments at the airport, but the story has a happy ending: the trophy will be there at the official party organised to celebrate the CL success and the other titles of this incredible season.
In fact, the club was informed that the trophy was lost at Hamburg Airport and the Germans sent it to Spain one day later with another flight.
Luc Abalo presented
Meanwhile, the management of Ciudad Real do not waste time. The Spanish club presented to the media a new player for the next season: Luc Abalo.
The French international right winger from Ivry will reinforce the team in a position where a great star, Mirza Dzomba, used to play.
The French winger was really satisfied with his new contract:
“This contract with Ciudad is a great step in my professional career. I arrive to the Champions League winners and I will help the team with a lot of work and sacrifice. I’m very glad,” he said.
Abalo is still very young, 23 years old, but he is experienced with 65 caps for France. The player talked about himself to the Spanish journalists:
“I think I am a good player. I know what to do every time on court, I am fast, clever and I have good jumping skills. However, I must improve my performance on both ends of the court,” added the Frenchman.
The new boy has already seen the last games of his new team: “I was very nervous, but Ciudad were able to win the Champions League. I know some things about the team because Dinart kept me informed.” TEXT: Fernando Urra Goñi |
