Rasic believes in surprisesEurohandball talks to Crvena zvezda’s Davis Rasic. The 22-year old left back scored 6 goals against Casarano and he was one of the decisive players for Zvezda to return to the CL. Eurohandball.com: You were among the best players of Zvezda. How do you remember the game? David Rasic: We started well, but we had a bad period in our game in the middle of first half. We ended the first half three goals down. After the break we simply could not get back into the game and at a point we were already eight goals behind. The coach insisted on playing quicker, because he knew that the Italians play with only six players and they can't endure that rhythm. He was right. Casarano became soon tired and made many mistakes. We scored easy goals, decreased the gap and qualified in the end. Eurohandball.com: You had a knee injury during the preparations and you are still not in a good form. But you scored important goals against Casarano… David Rasic: I did not train with full intensity. I played only in attack because I don't have energy for both defence and attack. Luckily everything ended fine. Eurohandball.com: The fans of Crvena zvezda can finally watch their team in the CL, but Hamburg and Copenhagen will be strong opponents. What do you expect? David Rasic: All the HSV players are internationals playing for Germany, Denmark, and France. Copenhagen are the champions of Denmark and last season they played the EHF Cup finals. Tatran have many Slovak internationals and they qualified for the World Championship against Slovenia. But with the help of our fans I believe that we can make a surprise and complicate the situation in our group. Eurohandball.com: What can your fans really expect? Maybe a home victory against Tatran? David Rasic: We can beat Tatran at home and we can play a good game against the Germans and the Danes. If we gain additional points it would be great. TEXT: Ivan Ambros |
