Golubic: Nobody will grab points from LjubljanaEurohandball.com talks to Dijana Golubic, Croatian international right winger of Krim Mercator. Golubic tells us about her new coach, the improving form of Krim and her expectations from the new CL season. Eurohandball.com: You have a new coach, Marta Bon. What are your impressions after three months about working with her? Dijana Golubic: The team needed some time to adapt to the new coach. Marta is very analytic. She takes care of all segments, including nutrition, injury prevention and physical condition of players. This is the first time in my carrier that I’m working with a female coach and it’s great. There are no more shouting at trainings, she has much more understanding for our mistakes. All in all, she has much more patience than male coaches. Eurohandball.com: Krim did not start well in the Regional League, but it seems that your team is improving. In the last five matches you had four wins and a draw. Now you are second on the table. What is the atmosphere like in the team after these good results? Dijana Golubic: We have a younger team, so our goals are set for the long term. The most important thing is that we improve with every day. Maybe the start was not so good, but we show constant improvement at every game we play. At the beginning of the preparations we focused on physical condition. In addition, new coach and new players arrived so we needed time to get used to each other. Of course, every victory brings joy to the team and also better atmosphere. Eurohandball.com: Andrea Lekic and you are the top scorers of Krim. How do you feel and what are the expectations from the CL start? Dijana Golubic: I expect to give maximum every match I play and to improve. It is not important which player is the best scorer; it is important to win the matches. Eurohandball.com: In the first round Krim will travel to Nűrnberg. The Germans won in Ljubljana last season. Will this be additional motivation for Krim? Dijana Golubic: We can’t wait for the CL to begin. We are very motivated to get revenge against Nurnberg. It is certain that every match in the CL will be tough, but we prepared for that. I hope we will win the match and start the CL with a victory. Eurohandball.com: What about Viborg and Metz? Dijana Golubic: Viborg are very likely to be the biggest favourites to win CL title. They have many great players in each position. Metz won the Qualification Tournament, so it means they have quality for the CL. I’m happy because I’ll meet my Croatian friends Lovric and Horacek. Viborg and Metz are great teams, but I’m convinced that neither of them will get points in Ljubljana. Eurohandball.com: Last season Krim had many injuries. What is the situation now? Can Marta Bon count on all players against Nurnberg? Dijana Golubic: At the moment we don’t have problems. Our players are fit. It’s better not to think about injuries at all. TEXT: Ivan Ambros |
