FCB coach Cadenas is confident that his team can go on the winning track after recent defeats.

Barcelona: return to the top

Barcelona began the season very well in the Champions League and in the Asobal League, but Kiel and Portland stopped them and destroyed their unbeaten record.

FCB are second in the Champions League group and also in the Asobal League. The objective of coach Manuel Cadenas is to take the team back on the top of the table. Cadenas is optimistic about the future of the team.

Cadenas believes that the Kiel game will not stop the teamThe Barcelona fans are also hoping that the team can continue after two weeks in an improving form.

“Everything was perfect two weeks ago, we were unbeatable. Now we lost a game at home against Kiel in the CL. They were better than us. The defeat against Portland was very hard to take because we still played well in the first half and finally lost by one goal,” Cadenas said.

The beginning of the season was difficult for the club. Jerome Fernandez and Eric Gull left Barcelona and Iker Romero suffered a serious injury.

“We need a new player. We began the season with five back court players including Jerome and Gull who left the club since. We had no time to react and Ben Amor can only cover one position. The injury of Iker Romero is big blow for us. His goals are important, just as his leadership on court”.

Cadenas counts on the capacity of his team to react:

“The defeat against Portland was painful and I hope that this game will help us to improve. We had a problem in the beginning of the second half against Portland and Kiel, but the team has the best attitude to improve”.

The next game in the Champions League will be against Metalurg in FYR Macedonia.
