Confident Russians

Chehovskie will have to fight hard for a place in the Main Round of the Champions League. The defeat suffered in Pamplona against Portland made the situation complicated, but the Russian team can still solve the problem at home against Cimos Koper and Steaua Bucarest. Two victories would qualify them without any problems.

Vladimir Kushnir, the assistant coach of Chehovskie, had made confident predictions after the defeat in Spain:

“Portland and our team will qualify. A few injured players returned to the Spanish team and I’m sure that they will win in Romania and also against Cimos Koper. I think that we will win our home games and at the end Portland and Chehovskie will go through.”

The Russian assistant coach is satisfied with the quality of the Russians team at the moment.

“We are really in form after the Olympic Games. We were hoping to play a better match in Spain, but it was not possible. In fact, we always struggle in this country. We aren’t able to win in Spain”.

Kushnir praised Portland San Antonio.

“Danjiel Saric is a great goalkeeper. He gives security to the defenders. Claus Jakobsen was not there in Russia, but now he played a very good game in Pamplona. The Danish playmaker helped Kristian Kjelling a lot who also improved”.
