Suspension of Vignir Svavarsson (Iceland) for one match of EHF national team competitions.

Vienna, 20 November 2008 - The EHF Body of 1st Instance has dealt with the case of Vignir Svavarsson (Iceland).

The body was called together following the direct disqualification of Vignir Svavarsson in the last second (60:00) of the 2010 Men’s EURO Qualification match between Noraway and Iceland, for an action of serious unsportsmanlike conduct. The game was played in the Group 3 of the 2010 Men’s EURO Qualification on 1 November 2008.

As a result, Svavarsson has been suspended for one match of an EHF national team competition, which means that he will not be eligible to play in the next 2010 Men’s EURO Qualification match (FYR Macedonia vs Iceland in March 2009).
