Juan Garcia, the fast break man

After some matches with Ademar, Barcelona and Spanish national team, Juan Garcia has converted in one of the fastest players on international top handball. Left winger of Barcelona Borges is one of references for the style that Manuel Cadenas is trying to impose in his team. Juanin is fast break man.

Barcelona needs players as Juanin because the wingers and pivots of Catalonians have scored one a half of the total goals of Cadenas team. Juanin has scored 23 goals this season only in the first round of Champions and Rocas, Tomas, Garabaya or Noeddesbo have scored more than ten goals each one. “The efficiency is very important in the fast break. We need mates very fast and ready to run. The finalization is very important for us”, opines Manuel Cadenas.

Fast break handball needs more qualities than the velocity. “We must have an instinct to run in the correct moment. Of course it is necessary a good defence and effective goalkeepers. If you do not stole any balls it is impossible to run”, explain Juanin who has score 17 goals of 46 total in this season of fast break.

However, Juanin has a mate who is showing that fast breaks are not only for wingers. Jerper Noeddesbo has scored 17 goals running this season too. “He has a good physical structure and I sure that he is best running pivot of Asobal League” said Cadenas about Nordic player. “He is ambitious and is ready to run every time. He is a very good defender and steal some balls”, explain Juanin.
