Good news about GörbiczAnita Görbicz, top player of Győri Audi ETO KC and of the Hungarian national team, has not been feeling completely fit for months. The player was forced to miss Champions League games recently and since that she underwent medical tests. The problems of Görbicz appeared on 8 November for the first, at the CL home game against Ikast. She later confirmed that she felt sick on the bench, after intensive physical activity, and she was not able to perform on the expected level. Görbicz then skipped the GF World Cup in Denmark in order to have time to rest after the Olympic Games. In December she took part at the EURO in FYR Macedonia, but she was far from her top form. After the EURO, Győr played test matches without Görbicz and she came back on court against Ikast in the Champions League on 3 January, playing only parts of the game. And while she was apparently coming back to play according to her highest standards in the domestic league, the symptoms returned from time to time. At this point the medical team advised the player to stop immediately and undergo thorough cardiac testing. Today the results of the tests have been published. The MRI and CT diagnostics confirmed that the player’s heart is healthy and she can return on court. While the player can commence the trainings, she will have to return to regular check-ups and she also needs to make adaptations in her lifestyle. TEXT: handball.hu (Ildikó Balogh) |
