The Norwegian top player will play for Anja Andersen's team next season.

Riegelhuth joins FCK

One of the best female players of Norway, Linn-Kristin Riegelhuth, will be leaving Norwegian champion Larvik HK at the end of the season. She will join FCK Håndbold that just failed to qualify for the main round of the CL – similarly to Larvik.

The Norwegian star moves to an ambitious squad“I have been playing for Larvik for seven seasons now, so when the opportunity came to join FC København, it was really easy to accept it. I’m looking forward to playing in a stronger league than I’m used to and to play in a team with even better players.

“The club is very ambitious and aim to win the Champions League. I also wished to seek new challenges, so I’m sure that this change will come just at the right time me,” 24 year old Linn-Kristin Riegelhuth said as the two year contract with the Danish club was announced on Tuesday.

Anja Andersen happy

“She is a very interesting player. Linn-Kristin can cover the majority of the positions in the defence as well as several positions in attack. This versatility appeals to me,” FCK Håndbold´s head coach Anja Andersen told the club’s website.

“At the same time, she has been a very consistent player for several years now. I’m sure that we will be able to develop her further in FCK,” Anja Andersen added.

Despite Larvik’s failure to qualify for the main round this season, Linn-Kristin Riegelhuth is top scorer with 61 goals from six group matches.

The left-handed backcourt player was also part of the Norwegian national team winning Olympic gold in Beijing and EURO 2008 last year. She also won EURO 2004 and EURO 2006 with Norway.
