Hard times for Buducnost

The Montenegrins suffer from injuries with just a week before the CL main round.

Hard times for Buducnost

With less then 10 days before the restart of the main round in the Champions League, Buducnost T-Mobile have big problems with injuries.

"No break," says Radicevic with reliefIf the game with Valcea would be played this weekend, the coach of the Montenegrins, Gyula Zsiga, would have serious problems to put a team together.

In the last game of the Regional League against Hypo (played in Maria Enzersdorf on Wednesday), Buducnost lost by 35:31. The injuries of left wing Jovanka Radicevic and back player Gabriella Kindl were much more painful than the lost points.

Radicevic had to leave the court in the second half due to a sprained right ankle. She was immediately taken to the local hospital.

“The most important is that there is no fracture, so I can say that I was lucky. But it’s painful. The doctors in the hospital did a great job, they did everything to kill the pain and I hope everything will be okay.

“To be honest, I don’t know how long I will be out of court and it’s really questionable whether I would be ready against Valcea,” Jovanka Radicevic said.

Gabriella Kind has recently decided to play for Montenegro in the future. She also had to leave the court in the second half because of thigh problems. Luckily, her injury is not so serious, which means the Hungarian player should be back within few days.

Tihana Ambros and the new player Sladjana Grozdanic watched the game against Hypo from the bench – also because of injuries –, while of the captain of Buducnost, Marija Jovanovic, didn’t even travel to Austria. The star of the team had to travel to Copenhagen to undergo a medical checkup of her right shoulder.

Jovanovic has had problems with her shoulder for some time now and she missed a few games of the national team and in the Regional League as well. In this period she clenched her teeth and helped her team at the crucial CL games.

After the checkup Jovanovic will know how long she will have to rest. The player will join the team in Koprivnica, where Buducnost will play against Podravka on Saturday in the Regional League.
